Being a mother is one of the toughest jobs in the world. Imagine being a mother while experiencing homelessness, or a pregnant teenager with nowhere to go or no one to turn to. Soroptimist International of Anchorage women’s organization helps support community nonprofits that serve these mothers in crisis through our Bundles of Joy Community Babyshower.
Annual Event

“[We are] grateful to have community organizations such as yours…. Thank you for your kind and generous support of our teen parents.”
– Pamela Christianson, Benson Secondary High School, Crossroads Program Counselor
This Community Babyshower is an annual event that for over ten years has been helping to provide baby necessities to other not-for-profit organizations that serve homeless and at risk mothers and their children. Organizations that we work with include Clare House, Passage House, AWAIC (Abused Women’s Aid in Crisis), and Crossroads, a program of the Anchorage School District, which provides a supportive instructional environment that allows students to continue their education while pregnant and/or parenting.
Sponsorships and Donations
The Bundles of Joy Community Babyshower takes place in the spring each year. SI/ Anchorage is a recognized charitable organization, and we are always accepting any new items that will help a mother take care of her baby. If you or your business would like to donate to or sponsor the program, please contact the Program Chair at sianchorage@gmail.com for more information.

“Diapers and wipes are always wonderful, other items the shelter could use are high chairs, booster seats with straps, baby and toddler bottles, silly cups, and eating utensils. Thank you for thinking of AWAIC!”
